this is the back of the cardigan that i'm designing and knitting for 6 year old Bea. it's the second half of my contribution to The Great Summer Swap 2009. the yarn is Berrocco Vintage Wool. a new, machine washable acrylic/wool blend. it's super soft, inexpensive, and a great alternative to the usual choice for kid-friendly yarn, Plymouth Encore. though the color looks blue-ish here, it's a actually a really grape-y purple, one of Bea's favorite colors. i'm really loving how the design is coming along. keeping my fingers crossed that Bea will love it, too!
Kimberly
Kimberly is a yoked pullover with a fitted waist. It features separately knit bias bands at the hem and on the sleeves.
Sizes: 9 to fit sizes from 32" - 48"
Yarn Requirements: 6 (6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins of Noro Chirimen or 735 (780, 830, 880, 935, 995, 1050, 1115, 1180) yds
Needles:
Size US 5, 29” – 32” circular needles
Size US 6 needles
(You may require a shorter size US 5 circular as you approach the neckline)
Size US 5, double pointed needles
Gauge: 21 sts / 8 rows = 4 inches over stockinette stitch on US size 5 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
